At present, Aiswarya Dairy has 92 cross-bred cows. The dairy assistants are well experienced persons who are managing cross breed cows highly productive and acclimatized. The live stocks comprises the cross bread of HF, Jersey, Holstein, Sunandini and Swiss Brown. The resource persons at Aiswarya Dairy include experts in Veterinary Sciences drawn from among those available at the Indo-Swiss Project at Mattupetty (Munnar in Kerala) and Kerala Agriculture University at Mannuthy (Thrichur in Kerala).
Milk produced is supplied in the families located with in the radius of 12 kms with the intentions that mothers feed their children with pure and unadulterated milk with full conscience. Fresh milk supplied though venders in early morning and afternoon at the door steps of 400 families especially those family having small kids.
Aiswaryagram is one of the organization facilitated and popularized the Rabbitry in Kerala in partnership with the department of Science and technology, Govt. of India to generate rural employment As a means of self employment, rabbit rearing is a boon to landless laborers, especially women, of the weaker section of the society. A pair of rabbits, under normal conditions, will multiply and give 86 rabbits, in one year. In the second year, rabbit rearing unit started with only one pair of rabbits, will yield a net profit of (Rs. 1000 per month). At present, Aiswryagram has a good number of four different exotic breeds’ in its rabbit breeding centre. They are White giant, Gray gaint, Soviet chinchilla and Newsealand white.
Nowadays our country faces the challenges of securing the food as well as providing nutritional security to the fast growing population. In India, pigs are more popular diat among people.. Apart from providing meat, it is also a source of compost. Aiswryagram understands the scope of piggery to help the poor minorities. Pig farming will provide employment opportunities to seasonally employed rural farmers and also as a supplementary income to improve their living standards.
Aiwarya Piggery unit serves as a breeding center which brings high breed verities of pigs from various stations and kinds produced are given to the poor farmers at subsidized rate. At present we have three different varieties of breading. They are Duroc, Landrace, Large white and Yorkshire
Genetically-superior-quality goats available in different parts of India will be collected and with , utmost importance scientific breeding will be conducted at Aiswarya goat rearing center. The kids produced will be cross breads or pure breads, which can adapt to the local climatic conditions. This will be distributed to the farmers in a nominal prize. The Different breading stocks are Jekrana, Sirohi, Golden Beetel, Marvari, Jamnapari and Malabari. Most of them are North Indian verities.
Aiswaryagram promotes egg laying free range backyard poultry in rural areas to increase the family income of the poor families One Day old Chiks are collected from the Agricultural University Mnnuthy and distributed to the farmers after having one month caring at Aiswaryagram with a nominal prize. All kinds of possible vaccinations and medications will be given during this month. The different verities of chicks are Gramasri, Grama Lakhmi etc. The importance of these verities is they are backyard chicks and lay 180 to 200 eggs per year.
The production and distribution of quality seeds and seedlings to farmers in subsidized rate is very important for strengthening the farming sector. A well established nursery is functioning as part of Aiswaryagram to meet the community demand of superior seeds and plant sapling. The competent and well experienced plant technicians, access to subject experts and linkages with various agriculture research centers and universities ensure the availability advanced hybrid and disease resistant varieties of plant saplings.
